Shining Hero
It is worth digging up forgotten works.
by Renate Freyeisen
"… But the strongest figure was the scheming Segeste; Denis Lakey, borrowed from the Theater Erfurt, was captivating through his convincing acting and his 'round', radiantly full countertenor."

Cupid Enchants The World
Successful Meininger Premiere for the baroque opera 'Arminio'
by Peter Lauterbach
"…Of course the countertenor Denis Lakey was immediately impressive vocally, also acting the role of Segeste, the ruler of the Chatti, driving constantly threatening undertones into his soul…"

Meiningen Baroque ARMINIO: Denis Lakey, Daniela Dott, Iva Ionova

Love In A Storm Of Coloratura
by Christoph A. Brandner
Top marks were earned by the three excellent sopranos and coloratura experts, Iva Ionova (Arminio), Daniela Dott (Tusnelda) and Maria Rosendorfsky (Ramise), the brilliant countertenor Denis Lakey (Segeste) and the bass Jörn E. Werner (Varo). The nearly two-hour-long theatre experience was rewarded with befitting applause from the audience. The message of the finale was one of exultation, "And thus the god of love turns bitterness to joy." Those who want to see this will have to wait for the new season in Meiningen.
